How to remove yourself from BeenVerified
BeenVerified lets you remove your record from its people-search results without being a member and without paying. The online process removes one record at a time, so if you have several you will need to email the company for the rest.

Quick facts
- Cost
- Free to do yourself
- Expected time
- BeenVerified says that in most cases it takes about 24 hours to take effect after you receive the confirmation email. Official page
- Do listings come back?
- BeenVerified says a new record can appear if a data partner supplies information it cannot match to your old record. If that happens after you opted out, it asks you to email [email protected]. It also says your name might still appear in its other search services, such as property or contact search, which have separate opt-outs. We suggest re-checking every few months (our suggestion, not a company figure). Official page

What BeenVerified asks for
- Your name, to search BeenVerified's opt-out search and pick your record Official page
- An email address to receive a verification link (BeenVerified says it only uses it to verify the request) Official page
- No membership, account or payment Official page
Step-by-step: remove yourself from BeenVerified
- Open BeenVerified's opt-out search (link below).
- Search for yourself using the form and select the record you want removed.
- Submit your email address. BeenVerified will send a verification email.
- Click the link in that email to confirm. BeenVerified then sends a second email confirming the record has been opted out.
- Wait about a day, then search your name again in the same opt-out search to check. BeenVerified suggests clearing your browser history if you still see the old result.
- If you find more than one record about you, email [email protected]. BeenVerified states that, to prevent fraud, the online process removes only one record.
What this will not do
- BeenVerified can only remove records from its own site; it says it did not create the data and your information may appear on other websites.
- Opting out of People Search does not necessarily cover its property search or contact search, which its opt-out page points to separately.
If something goes wrong
Email [email protected]. BeenVerified's support pages also list [email protected] and 1-888-579-5910; the California data broker registry entry lists the same phone number.
If you'd rather have a service do this for you
If tracking multiple records and re-checking for new ones sounds tedious, paid removal services automate that. They cost money and we have not tested them.
Paid removal services such as Optery, Incogni and DeleteMe offer this. You never need to buy anything to remove your listing; the steps above are free.

How we verified this page
Last verified 2026-10-26. Broker forms change without notice. If a step no longer matches what you see, trust the broker's page and tell us.
Confirmed on the broker's own pages
- The process, no-membership and no-payment statements, the 24-hour timing, the one-record limit and the reappearance and [email protected] guidance were read on BeenVerified's own support article (updated January 6, 2026) and its opt-out FAQ text on 2026-10-26.
- The opt-out URL and phone number match BeenVerified's registration with the California Attorney General's data broker registry.
Could not verify
- We could not load the live opt-out form itself. BeenVerified's site blocked automated access (a Cloudflare check), so the exact fields, any captcha and the current wording on the form were not seen first-hand.
- Whether the old URL https://www.beenverified.com/app/optout/search always redirects to the current form (it did redirect to /svc/optout/search/ when we requested it).
